Did you know... A question & Answer about Clearblue/Clearplan Monitors

Did you know???

Question: I see alot of Clearblue & Clearplan Easy Fertility monitors. Is one different from the other? Is one a knock-off brand?

Answer: Years ago, the Clearblue Monitor was called the Clearplan. For unknown reasons to the outside world Clearplan decided to change there name, Thus the new name Clearblue Easy fertility monitor. They are the same exact monitor, made the same way, working the same way. The only difference is the Name, yup just the name.

Question: What comes with the monitor & what else do I need to buy?

Answer: Clearblue Monitors are sold in stores & they include the unit itself & an instruction manual. You will nee 4 AAA batteries & Test sticks to use this monitor, both of which are sold separately.

Question: My friend has a Clearplan monitor, she says works great but its 10 years old. Is it expired?

Answer: No the monitor itself never expires! As long as the monitor is fully functioning you should have no problems using it after it has been reset.

Question: I was looking to buy a used fertility monitor, but its older. How long of a life do you think it will have?

Answer: From all the research I have done on these monitors, I don't believe they have a life span. I have never known a monitor to just die because it was too old. I have seen monitors that were: dropped in the toilet, stop working & dropped on the floor stop working. Even if the screen is pressed on, usually you just get a few dead spots on the screen & the monitor still works fine & is usable.

Question: I found a monitor real cheap & bought it. When I got it, it was really gross. What do I do?

Answer: When you buy a used product such as this, it is important to make sure that it is properly cleaned before you buy it. If you get one that is not cleaned. You can gently clean it yourself. A baby wipe cleans all the outside very nicely and a Q-tip with rubbing achohol works great for hard to reach areas. Never use a dripping wet Q-tip or anything super wet that can leak into the cracks of the monitor. This will cause corrosion of the interior parts & stop your monitor from working. Its worth it to pay a little extra for a monitor that was gently used, very clean, professionally cleaned & reset!

Do you have question? I can give you the best to my ability answer from the research I have done on these monitors. Just ask here :) Remember this is my personal opinion. I have no association with the Clearblue company or any company for that fact.

How To reset your Clearblue/Clearplan Fertility monitor

I was asked a question on how to reset a Monitor so I am devoting a whole post to it. Firstly, Do NOT reset your monitor unless you have/are
A: Had a Baby
B: Had A Miscarriage
C: Selling you monitor
As this will cause it to erase its memory of you cycle, which will use more test sticks and in the long run cost more money.
Secondly, Reseting your monitor.
1)Open a Test Stick (this can be saved and used as your first stick in a few days or thrown away)
2)Click the test stick into the monitor (make sure it clicks in like you are testing)
3)Simultaneously Press and Hold the Power button and the "M" Button (do not let these buttons go)
4) The unit will power on and flash the stick and -> symbols, It is telling you to take the stick out.
5) Continue to hold the buttons until all the symbols flash on the screen, then release both buttons.
6) Take out the test stick
7)Turn off the monitor

Congrats you have just reset your monitor.

Lets talk.

You know I have learned so many things about my body and fertility in general. Things your mother could never tell you and wouldn't, had she even known. It took me so long to get pregnant for the first time. Our timing was right, my body was healthy, his body was healthy, but it just wan't happening. Has this happened to you. Alot of women, given the right information can boost there chances of conception and fall pregnant withing months of this knowledge. Knowledge like, how to tell when your ovulating can lead to the proper timing for sex and heighten the chance of conception. But most women never get the chance to learn this. Who is going to teach them, how will they learn? Well most have to scour the internet endlessly looking for information they don't understand or maybe they have to call a doctor and try to discuss it with him/her. Sometimes this can be embaressing. Don't get me wrong, there are ladies out there with true medical problems, that need medical help to conceive. Likewise alot of women don't need that type of help but just need someone to give them information, tell them what sites to read, show them what choices they have before they call the doctor. Lets face it ladies we like to talk to each other and ask for anothers advise. I have done alot of studying, even taken a small online course. No I'm not the best speller but I love to listen, help and be a friend. If you have any questions feel free to post them in the comment section.

Favorite Digital Home Pregnancy Test

I have to say my all time faovorite digital pregnancy test is the "Clearblue Easy Digital Pregnancy Test". Its as simple as using first morning urine (FMU) on your test with the simple results reading "PREGNANT / NOT PREGNANT". I have found the CBE HPT to be very reliable even before your period is due. Please remember that even though your period is due or late, sometimes implantation of you little one can sometimes be delayed, resulting in a later positive result. Please read the instructions before using your test, but enjoy. It will be the happiest word you have ever read :)

I wonder...

How private should the subject of fertility be? Should you only talk about it with your spouse, best friend, doctor? Maybe, no one? I guess anyone who has tried to get pregnant and does not succeed on there own is prompted at one point to discuss it. But with whom and when? If you have a suggestion feel free to comment :)

My background

Since I was a little girl I wanted to be a mommy & Wife. Well, I am :) I am a mother to 5 wonderful kids and wife to my loving hubby, Art. When I got pregnant with my first child I read every pregnancy book in site. I have read many books as well as taken online fertility courses. I am a fountain of information and wish to help any woman that is struggling in conceiving. I have many suggestions. I have personnally owned many fertility monitors. I belong to sites that pertain to fertility as well as being part of disscussions about fertility and a womans body. You can be sure that if you have questions, I have answers. If I don't have an answer, I will search and study for you until I have found answers. Let me help you. I want you to live your dream like I'm living mine.
